Happy 2023!

Kicking off the year of Reubens found Ethan(pictured) and I shuffling past the crowd into Myhre’s Deli - Sandwich Shop and Poutinerie. This restaurant came highly recommended from Booker(featured in earlier blog posts) and didn’t disappoint. Ethan and I each ordered a Reuben, with me choosing the house mustard, Eth getting the Hot variety. Upon finishing the first half of the sandwich we swapped thus ensuring we each got to sample multiple fantastic options!

Myhre’s seems to take some of its influence from Montreal, and there were two big clues upon closer inspection. First the fantastic smoked meat that was generously heaped on each sando. Second the use of francais on each bathroom door. Fortunately for me, Eth is the proud owner of a 150+ day streak on Duolingo… in French… and was able to nudge me in the right direction when I stood, confused at the doors.

A final standout feature was that there is a tub of Double Bubbles to enjoy after paying. I had a funny comic about a beard tonic in my piece of gum. That thing was funny.

All told, this was a fabulous Reuben, and certainly worth stopping in, should you be in Cow Town… the city of cows!
