I know I have been sayin’ that every Reuben is fantastic, and I recognize that this may slightly water down my reviewer’s cred, but I call it like I see it, and this Reuben was fantastic. The Metal Kettle is a street or so south from a real blue collar area in east Camrose, so I was already excited to head into this joint. As we arrived I was excited to see a stack of “The Coffee News.” Great start. Then I heard that the bread is made on premises and the fries are hand cut! Jordy (pictured) who is a bit of a connoisseur of frites, was a huge fan of their offering. Then the Reuben came. The bread was toasty but not crumbly… a challenging balance. Then the meat, cheese, kraut and mustard were dancing in unison, each perfectly paired and none overpowering each other. The coffee was hot and there was even a crib board behind me to play on the off chance that you’d stopped in with a bit of spare time. All told, superb Reuben and a great lunch.

Pictured, Jordy with said frites and Oleksandr mean muggin’ as usual. Go YEG Grads!
