Ponoka, Ab.

Today was a wild one. For the first time in the history of Reubenmania, I pulled a double header. For the uninitiated, that means that I slugged through the evening meat sweats after having not one, but two Reubens today… Ponoka was the venue and the establishments were, Pickles and Pie (Lunch) and then the Hitchin Post (Supper). For this double header, I am going to do a head to head comparison. 

Decor - Pickles and Pie - they had these great place-mats with local bird pictures and facts. We were even allowed to fold one up and take it with us as a huge bonus. 

Ambiance - Hitchen Post - Despite being chatted at in a completely indecipherable language by a local smokey on the way in, we were able to find a cozy booth. Not only this but the server put on Game 1 of the NBA finals for us (go Mavs) and she even turned down the overly loud bar music. The mere fact she turned it down to conversational volume wins this section for the Hitchen Post!

Sando - Draw! Both were great. And eerily similar… might be something going on. 

Anyway, next time your down at the Ponoka Rodeo and the steer riding doesn't get you sweatin’, just remember you can down two local delights to catch back up!
